Condition report

The enameled case shows scattered small losses to the enamel ground consistent with three centuries of handling, most noticeably along the case band. The single steel hand is a later sympathetic replacement. The movement is present and complete but has not been tested for running order and should be assessed by a horologist before use. The case hinge and closure operate smoothly.

Sold at a European timepiece specialist auction in the late 20th century; most recently held in a private collection in Boston prior to consignment by Thomas Whitfield.
