Conditions of Sale

All bids, offers, and purchases are subject to these conditions of sale. Placing a bid, making an offer, or completing a purchase is agreement to them. Every lot is offered as described in its catalog listing and condition report; condition is a matter of opinion, and the condition report is the house's record of that opinion, not a warranty. Estimates are opinions of a probable auction result, not appraisals of value. Except as provided by the authenticity guarantee below, all sales are final. (Draft -- counsel to finalize.)

Authenticity Guarantee

If a lot is shown not to be as described in its catalog listing as to authenticity, attribution, or period, the house will refund the price paid, any buyer's premium, and any tax collected on it, provided written notice is given within 14 days of delivery or pickup, whichever applies, on either a timed-auction or fixed-price purchase. This guarantee does not extend to condition, which is a matter of opinion recorded in the condition report at the time of sale; all other sales are final. (Draft -- counsel to finalize.)
